As the brains behind the operation of NWA, one of the first ever gangsta rap groups, this is certainly true. Ice Cube had written 75% of the lyrics for everyone, particularily on the break through track, Straight Outa Compton. He also wrote Easy E first solo album, all of which lead to a legal battle over royalties with the record label. This also lead to years of smack talk, which can be heard on Cube’s and all the members later albums.
