Maceo Parker & Band: Now, THAT is performance!

None of this comeback tour, or reunion shite… none of this Johny-come-lately, flat n’ heatless… no pyro-technics, dancin’ babes or anything else that musicians use these days to spice up an otherwise mediocre show. Maceo (and every one of his band mates) deliver a solid and stunning show simply based on good, ‘ol fashioned musical talent. It’s apparent to anyone that they really live within their music, and that is what makes it so contagious! They must have performed this stuff one million and one times; and yet you couldn’t even detect a moment of boredom or auto-performance on these guys. And for this reason, they draw the crowd in to a deep conversation, of the most funkiest degree. The translation: amazing show!
For those that don’t know: Maceo is a singer/sax player that was a pillar of the James Brown band and also Parliament Funk, legendary in the funk music world.
